Canvas Magazine

When I was in Beirut, looking through the shelves at Librairie Antoine I noticed a magazine under the name “Canvas”. With it’s tagline “Art & Culture from the Middle East and Arab World”. The magazine is a great find to me and I was wondering why I didn’t recognise it from before but the fact that it’s not distributed in Jordan explained it.

The magazine is a treasure, it’s filled with Arabic art and artists features as well as an updated calendar with art events regarding Art from the Middle East in a wide array of cities around the globe. The magazine is at it’s 4th issue of the 3rd Volume. Each volume includes 6 issues.

Canvas Magazine & Canvas Guide

The latest issues accompany a smaller supplement titled “Canvas Guide”. It includes a cultural agenda of the latests exhibitions and art events as well as picks of latest dvd releases that are globally produced.

I am so glad that you like it too. Can’t find it here of course, so I’ll just have to pek at the website. Omar, I have not had time off yet to visit each and every one of your posts. You are doing a wonderful job putting all this info together. It is so great to see that there are some very talented Middle-Eastern artists who keep on going, despite all of the horrors. Congrats again :)

I got it from a friend of mine actually, apparently he has a subscription with the magazine. But you can always check with JDA (Aramex Media – Tlaa el Ali) and ask them if they can get it specifically for you.
